Nick Jonas and Priyanka Chopra – Journey from Friends to Their Engagement
You may have heard all about Nick Jonas and Priyanka Chopra’s engagement after just two months of dating. There’s been a lot of buzz surrounding this celeb couple whose relationship seems to have come out of nowhere. This may not be the case, since many celebrities are choosing to keep aspects of their private life to themselves, especially in this era of social media.
Nick and Priyanka were first seen out in the public eye at the 2017 Met Gala where they walked the red carpet together, both modeling Ralph Lauren. They didn’t come out as a couple until a year later, but it’s been speculated that they’ve been inseparable ever since.
They continued to keep in contact since their first outing, emphasizing that they were keeping things casual. Was that truly the case and did their relationship progress suddenly from friends to a couple and then to their recent engagement? Or were they together since the Met Gala? We may never know. For now, let’s just accept that they are in love and excited to be on the journey to their I do’s.

Nick commented on a picture Priyanka posted with her friends eating at In-N-Out writing “that smile,” obviously talking about his girl’s beautiful smile. Nick is definitely burnin’ up for Priyanka!
Not only did Nick show some love for his fiancée on social media, but Priyanka returned the favor on her man’s Instagram post. Nick posted an adorable Instagram video of himself and a koala at the Taronga Zoo in Sydney, Australia, and Priyanka posed the question “Who is cuter?” Priyanka, we all know the correct answer is “Nick Jonas.” That’s a no-brainer. But the koala comes in at a very close second.
Just a few months ago, Nick and Priyanka met each other’s families. Nick took Priyanka as his date to his cousin’s wedding in New Jersey, while Priyanka later took Nick and his family to India to meet her mother and brother. More often than not, meeting each other’s family is a sign that things are getting serious in a relationship. This confirmed that things were heating up between them.
Now we’ve reached the super exciting part of their relationship – their engagement! Nick Jonas proposed to Priyanka Chopra on July 27th while they were out celebrating Priyanka’s birthday in London – just two short months after the start of their relationship. Nick closed down a Tiffany store to buy her engagement ring. Nick definitely caught the lovebug.
The couple confirmed their engagement on August 19th by posting the same photo showing off Priyanka’s engagement ring to their Instagram profiles. Nick Jonas captioned the photo with “Future Mrs. Jonas. My heart. My love.” Can they get any cuter?!
Nick is the last of the Jonas Brothers to get engaged (not including the Bonus Jonas, Frankie Jonas, of course). Nick’s brother, Joe Jonas, proposed to his fiancée, Sophie Turner, almost a year ago. Kevin Jonas and Danielle Jonas have been married since 2009. Maybe Nick felt it was time to settle down? He is surrounded by his brothers who are both in happy committed relationships.
Of course, he’s also very much in love with her, but I believe that his brothers had a big impact on his decision to get engaged.
Nick and Priyanka celebrated their engagement in Mumbai, India alongside their families and Priyanka’s Bollywood friends. Their families met each other for the first time at the engagement party, which they posted pictures of on their Instagram profiles.
The pre-wedding celebration, which is known as a Roka ceremony in Punjabi culture, featured various rituals which Nick, Priyanka and her family took part in. Nick and his parents have so much admiration for Indian culture. Nick’s mother, Denise Jonas (aka Mama Jonas), posted a video on her Instagram at the engagement party dancing to a Punjabi song with Priyanka’s mother, Madhu Chopra.
I find it so beautiful that they had their engagement party in India surrounded by Priyanka’s family and her culture. It shows how much love and appreciation Nick has for Priyanka. Unlike many other celeb couples who have elaborate, over-the-top engagement parties at an expensive place in California or New York, they chose to celebrate with their loved ones in a place very dear to Priyanka’s heart. The photos taken at the engagement party show the love and strong bond Nick and Priyanka have with their families. Watching their families get to know each other is such a beautiful sight to see.
Despite a lot of negativity surrounding Nick Jonas and Priyanka Chopra’s relationship, the newly-engaged couple are very much in love. Many people have been very critical of their relationship due to the fact that they have an 11-year age gap.
