Ri Ri Hints at New Music

Fans breathe a sigh of relief as Ri Ri hints at new music.

She launched Savage Fenty, her lingerie collection, May 11. Appeared in the thrilling blockbuster, Ocean’s 8, which debuted on June 5. Not to mention having dropped new summer Fenty Beauty products about a month later, on July 6.

Rihanna dear, we see you working and we love it.

No doubt fans are obsessed with the Barbadian singer, turned actress and most recent business woman, as she continues to enter new realms of success.

The pop icon has since shattered the beauty industry with the launch of her cosmetics line that had makeup lovers begging for more last year.

She answered with a sequence of new products launching back-to-back. Some of which include the Moroccan Spice Collection, Galaxy Collection and bombshell Stunna Lip Paints in new universal shades.

Ms. Fenty failed to stop there folks.

She shook the beauty community and came back with an inclusive lingerie line. Its mission to encourage women to make their own rules and express their mood, character and style “―for you, not for someone else,” Rihanna proclaims.

We are here for Ri Ri evolving her brand and spreading her influence across other areas, but what about the music?

Anti, the singer’s latest album released back in 2016. Jan. 27 to be exact. Congratulations are in order for its three-year anniversary come 2019.

Despite this, fans of the 30-year-old have been patiently waiting on her much-anticipated musical reincarnation.

Swirling reports have speculated that Rihanna has been working on a new album that is said to be “heading in a reggae influenced direction,” New Musical Express wrote.

She even went as far as teasing a fan on Instagram who expressed their exhaustion while waiting.

“I know I know sis,” she responded, “I’m doing music. Simultaneously doing lingerie, makeup, film, amongst a couple other things that I enjoy.”

This mystery album appears to have been in the works for quite a while according to a Rolling Stone piece that mentions, “For the past year, Rihanna has been recording a complete dancehall album for an upcoming project, according to numerous producers and songwriters.”

The Rolling Stone piece goes on to explain that, “For more than a year, Rihanna and her label Roc Nation have been hunting for beats as they work to complete an album devoted to exploring the singer’s Caribbean roots, according to conversations with eight sources close to the project.”

While a Vogue profile is credited with having started this buzz surrounding the release of a reggae-centric album, potential collaborators and others involved with the project remain tight-lipped.

The profile hinted at Supa Dups, a veteran dancehall producer, being connected to the album. “Along with Supa Dups, most of the biggest producers and singers connected to dancehall and reggae have submitted material for the album,” Rolling Stone wrote.

But exactly how much work is being put in to the album’s production?

Those involved said this: “[Rihanna’s team] have, no lie, 500 records for this project [from] different producers and writers,” explains one dancehall producer who asked to remain anonymous when talking to Rolling Stone.

Ri Ri graced us with a taste of dancehall with her smash single “Work” that topped the charts and helped boost Anti.

Almost three years later the star is gearing up to shock the world with an entire album influenced by Jamaican pop.

“When the music is ready, you won’t have to ask for it. But it’s coming,” Rihanna reassures.

Only time will tell.

Just don’t stop the music girl. That’s what you said back in 2007 after all.
